Insurance companies do not usually pay for couples counseling or adjustment disorders in individuals (such as grief over a divorce or job loss) as these issues are not considered a mental health problem like personality disorders, anxiety, or obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Therefore I do not accept insurance, but I do provide a receipt that can be given to insurance companies as out of network and may contribute toward obtaining deductibles.

Just as one might obtain CEUs toward a license or continue their education for a new career, counseling assists in developing life skills. Emotional intelligence allows for better relationships with loved ones, friends, and co-workers. Some have said that the emotional quotient (EQ) is more important than the intelligence quotient.
Based on experiences of dealing with hundreds of clients and in my own personal life, I would agree that individuals who have a heightened EQ are happier and tend to have better relationships.
